Now for 27th May 2026

What have I been upto?

We have quite a bit of a heatwave at the moment in the UK. Been largely getting on top of both personal and professional projects. Personal has seen me sort out a potential pest problem that manifested itself last month, along with some car related activities. Professional has seen me begin to prepare for WordCamp Europe in a few weeks, and also I attended HiveMCR last week too.

Last weekend I climbed up Walla Crag, which was so worth it from the top as the views over the Lake District and Scotland were incredible. It’s my first Wainwright – 214 walks in the Lake District shared by Alfred Wainwright. Apparently a “medium”. Once again it’s given me a task to achieve at some point, I can’t do it along with the 50 parkruns before the year’s out or similar to the 100 football grounds I achieved a few years back, but it may be something I have in the back of my mind every now and again to try to achieve.

Other than that, not much. A friend celebrated their 50th last weekend which I went to, but besides that, and cricket (which is continuing with a minimum of 2 games a week at the moment), there’s not much else to concern myself with.

What I have been enjoying?

I’ve been binging a show on Apple TV. For All Mankind is a show that begins with a great “What if” question – What if The Soviets were the first on the moon? We binged season 1 over the weekend and it was so watchable for me. Like most space shows it can be a bit far fetched but overall, it’s fantastic.

What is upcoming?

Next week is WordCamp Europe, so I’m off to Poland next Wednesday for a few days, other than that I’ve a relatively quiet weekend, with not much happening. MWUG is Friday too, so looking forward to my third trip to Manchester this week.

  1. Never heard of a Wainwright before! Wonderful stuff and what views!

For All Mankind is great, be interested to here how you get on with the later seasons though… worth watching for sure.
