A simple “status” update page, which I’ve seen in a few places that I quite liked the idea of, so I’m doing it here. You can read more about it here at nownownow.com.

Now for 11th May 2026
What have I been upto?
Work has ramped up a lot (I’ve been booked up for May, and it’s likely I’ll be booked up for most of June), meaning some projects have fallen by the wayside a bit. The client in a field I like in the last update has ghosted me (seriously why do people ghost? We had a phone call and everything!), but I’m keeping my head above water. Thriving, almost.

Had a hectic weekend. The first part was the Worsley Woods parkrun, a course that is close but I really want to do again as it’s so pretty. An out and back through some woodlands, a park and some nice quick straight bits. I have a really bad sense of smell, but the place had a strong smell of wild garlic, so if I could smell it, imagine how strong it is to people with working noses!

I then followed it up with a bit of gardening, it’s not there yet, but it’s getting there.
Finally Sunday was my first (weekend) cricket match. Our club Earlestown now has a third XI – a Sunday team where we can probably be a bit more competitive. We were away at Ormskirk, a beautiful ground but our slightly hodgepodged group lost. Good fun mind, and a game was played in excellent spirit.

What I have been enjoying?

Minecraft! So a podcast I listen to (Playthrough Podcast) has started a Minecraft server as it’s the latest game they are playing. It’s fabulous, isn’t it? A kind of sociable lego with some like minded folk. I think like most things it’s better with the right people, but having never picked up the game before, most evenings I’m putting a couple of hours into it. It helps also that I’m one of the youngest of the group. Just a lot of fun, really.
What is upcoming?
A short, albeit hectic week for me. I’ve cricket tomorrow night and only really tonight in which I’m going to focus on rest and recouperation. Thursday I’m spending in Chester Zoo as we are spending the night in the giraffe enclosure which should be fun, and also more cricket at the weekend.
