Now for Sunday 4th January 2026

What I have been upto?

Happy New Year! The Crimbo Limbo has been a time where I have had a pesky (rather than nasty) cough that has left me rather drained. I also found out my credit card had a fraudulent subscription for an AI generated music app, so spent the Sunday lurgied up and cancelling that. Hopefully it’s sorted but it involved a block being put on my old card, meaning subscriptions won’t carry over. Honestly, if you ever decide to join an app called Suno, don’t.

A lot of the New Year period was spent at may partner’s parents, but I did head to see The Moonwalkers in Aviva Studios in Manchester. A full cinematic documentary on the Apollo moon landings. It is excellent and if you can get to Manchester to see it, you should.

What I have been enjoying?

I’ve been watching a lot of darts. The World Championship has been going on. I enjoyed Luke Littler’s WWE esque heel turn recently. I think at the time of writing (30th December) I’m wanting Johnny Clayton (Welshman), or Ryan Searle to win, or the young Dutch lad, but I just enjoy watching it, rather than rooting for anybody in particular.

I’ve also been reading the latest issue of Pixel Addict. I enjoyed a retrospective look at the Atari ST, and the interview with Jamie Sefton. Genuinely forgot about Arcade magazine. I’ve got a bit more to read in it.

Finally, I’ve been playing Ball x Pit. It has a Balatro esque game loop, which just hits my spot. It’s just something I go back to for a 15 minute play, and I’m there playing it two hours later!

Finally, I’ve just watched the Traitors. I’m caught up to episode 3 of the UK show. No spoilers!

What is upcoming?

This week it’s a return to our regular scheduled life. I’ve got a bit of work on, onboarding one client, some work on a regular. Also cricket winter nets is kicking off again so I’m looking forward to going to that and seeing the boys again. Finally we’re current pub quiz champions! So going to spend our Β£30 bar tab on Thursday.
