What I have been upto?
Surprise surprise, the pesky work to transfer over a site was quick and painless, which was great. I had a bit of work – very bitty week last week with only really two days of solid work, the rest were jumping on smaller issues with clients.
I did cricket on Tuesday, the second week. I didn’t have the chance to bat unfortunately, but I’ve been promised to opening up next week, which should be great. Bowling I’m still same as it ever was.
Worked quite a bit on my gaming project, introducing a couple of new viruses, and an energy bar. I think I’m nearly there with the core gameplay loop, one virus now shoots, but I’m having an absolute nightmare moving the circle to the correct place. I’ve got things aiming at the brown dot (the one in the middle of the yellow circle), but I can’t shift it centrally. I’ve no idea why unfortunately. I may just leave it and have a circular based bounding box.
It was also the first MWUG of the year. Usually I’m always a bit wary with how things are, as it is usually quite quiet. However not so, we got 5 attendees! Usually I’ve had zero attendees in the past so to get 5 was an improvement. We’ve also discussed plans for next year.
Yesterday I did St Helens Parkrun and I got a PB for the course! It was my third fastest 5k ever (Heaton Park is still my record), which surprised me to be honest as I didn’t really feel like I got anywhere close to that time, not so. I’m chuffed to bits with that. I’m also beginning to be recognised at the event by some familiar faces, that’s nice. I try to travel and go to parkruns but other times it’s just nice having one of your own.
What I have been enjoying?
The Traitors! I’ve been addicted to it and as we go into the final week there’s a bit of a sense of deflation. Some of the bigger characters have been voted off or killed off, which kind of sucks now as the ones who are left are a bit flat (with one exception). I feel as though The Traitors will win, but we’ll see. It does feel a bit like 2015 Royal Rumble, when they knew Daniel Bryan wasn’t coming out.
I’ve also played a lot of video games, as I’ve tried to use this week as a bit of a restful week as the next few weeks will be chaotic. I’ve completed BallxPit (which I enjoyed), been playing Mario 64, Quake and Chips Challenge – all are frustrating in their own ways.
I also played and completed Strange Jigsaws and I kinda not sure about it. It’s okay. It’s a “thinking outside of the box” jigsaw puzzle game. I remember hate playing The Witness, and I got similar feelings with this game. However:-
- It doesn’t outstay it’s welcome
- It’s a bit funny in a dark humour way
- It’s solutions to it’s puzzles are all online – their official site is a walkthrough.
With those 3 things in mind, it shits all over The Witness. Fuck The Witness.
What is upcoming?
Upcoming this week is a quietish week with work, but a busy personal life. Tomorrow I’m off to my partner’s new house to help get the wi-fi set up there. I’m also picking her up from Liverpool airport on Friday as on Saturday we’re off to Seefeld, Austria for a winter spa break. Granted I’m not taking the time off work so I’ll technically be working, but it’ll be nice to have a change of scenery for a bit.
I’ve also got cricket too, and watching the finale of The Traitors. Lots on!
