    What I have been upto?

    A lot! Hence my quietness. I went away to Austria (Seefeld) for a week with my partner and her family. Seefeld is like a Christmas card (as you can see from the photos) and the highlight for me was some great food in a cabin in the woods, a fun morning curling, and also enjoying just relaxing in gorgeous scenery.

    I also spent some time helping my partner move back to the UK. It’s been a tough old time, but I’m glad she is settling in well – most of the unpacking is done and I’m spending some time with her tomorrow.

    Away from this I’ve been working really hard. I had a deadline for Friday which I hit, and work has been pretty full on these last few weeks. I did manage some gaming and also working on my game. I built a level editor which has made building levels a lot quicker and easier going forward, and it also helps me test out some ideas.

    Other than that, I’ve been at the cricket club as part of their Darts Social. I won one of the tournaments! I ended up winning the Round the Board tournament! It’s even better as it was with an unfamiliar ruleset.

    In less happy news, I’ve not been 100%, as I’ve been battling a cold. Also I had the dentist and my teeth aren’t great.

    What I have been enjoying?

    I played and completed TR-49 which scratches my Obra Dinn itch. You play Abbi who has to decipher a WWII era machine, that is an advanced AI. It’s a fun little 6 hour code breaking game, which has some super tense moments and some cracking audio design. Also there are a lot of moments that resonate now with what the world is going through. A great experience.

    I’ve also watched a lot of sport this weekend. The Winter Olympics has started – I think I’ve got a new found appreciation for it being in the snow for a week. I also have been enjoying the start of the Cricket World Cup in India. Hopefully we will have a few shocks!

    What is upcoming?

    This week I’ve another busy week. I’m going to be on This Week in WordPress on Monday, and this week is also Valentine’s Day. I’m off to the theatre on Friday night to see The Memory of Water at the Bolton Octogon, and Saturday I’ll be having a double date lunch and a nice walk I think. Nice and somewhat relaxed, as the week after is quite busy!
